Care & Maintenance for the LAW-17 Laser

Installation

Remove the plug (for HK only) below the front sight by pressing down on the spring loaded pin on the right side of the front site post assembly. Rotate the plug and pull outward. Install laser equipped forearm on weapon slightly forward without the pin. Insert laser mount into the hole where the plug was and screw hex bolt into the right side. Position forearm correctly and replace the front pin.

Sighting

To adjust your point of impact , shoot a three round group from a bench rest with the laser dot on the Bull's eye. Remove the magazine and clear the gun. Pointing the gun down range observe the four bolts heads around the laser housing. Using the Allen wrench provided to tighten a bolt will cause the laser dot to go in that direction of that corner. Loosening a bolt in the opposite corner will have the same effect. Use care not to overly tighten the bolts. Maintain even tension on each mounting bolt. Use common sense.

The Battery

When the laser is bright for a moment then goes dim, it means the battery needs to be recharged. Do not de-charge the battery! Use a 9 volt alkaline battery with the charging adapter suppled with your laser. Plug the adapter into the charging port at the bottom of the forearm ( se illus.). Do not activate the laser while charging! Remove adapter after five minutes. Ten Minutes maximum A good Battery will provide several recharges. If your battery fails to take or hold a charge, return the frame to the Factory. Do not attempt to change battery yourself.

The Optics

The collimating lens is factory focused and should not be adjusted. If the lens becomes loose and requires focusing, please call factory for instructions. Your Laser is designed to be well protected from the environment. You should never need to clean the lens. In the event that you do , rinse the aperture with water to remove any abrasive material. Wipe lightly with a cotton swab. Do not use solvents. Do not submerge assembly in dunk tanks.

Safety

This is a Class IIIa laser. The laser output is factory set to be under 5mW. And can not be adjusted by the user. If any noticeable change in output occurs, call the factory for recalibration. Never look into the laser beam or shine the laser into a person's eyes! Laser radiation can cause retina damage. Never point your laser at another person for fun. Do not use on weapons that you intend to shoot for extended periods of time.
